Frankfurt, September 07th, 2022: Rohan Haritwal, 31, previously portfolio manager of micro caps at Allianz Global Investors, is joining Lupus alpha’s Small & Mid Caps team to expand the Lupus alpha Micro Champions portfolio management capabilities alongside the fund’s Lead Portfolio Manager Jonas Liegl.
Rohan Haritwal began gaining practical experience in the area of European micro caps at Allianz Global Investors as a student and took the opportunity to join the international asset management company’s European Micro & Small Caps team as a graduate in early 2019. Prior to that, he completed a bachelor’s degree in Commerce at the University of Mumbai and gained a master’s in Finance from the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management.
“Rohan Haritwal and our Portfolio Manager Jonas Liegl have already worked closely together during their time at AllianzGI, so we’re delighted that Rohan’s arrival means we now have an experienced team for Lupus alpha Micro Champions,” said Dr. Götz Albert, Managing Partner and CIO of Lupus alpha. “Our second new hire of the year shows that, even in a challenging market environment, we continue to focus on growth and consistently enhancing the expertise within our European Small & Mid Caps team, which is now one of the largest in this segment with 11 staff across Europe."
The micro caps segment includes the smallest listed companies, and provides access to companies in an early phase of growth, among others. Lupus alpha Micro Champions covers companies with market capitalisation ranging from EUR 50 million to EUR 1 billion (at the time of initial investment) and focuses on the most attractive stocks across Europe. Even in challenging economic phases, this segment provides opportunities for active stockpickers to invest in companies that navigate crises with resilience and emerge from them stronger and in a position to set a course for a successful future.
