Scope Awards: Lupus alpha wins in the Boutiques and Absolute Return categories

The Scope Awards 2020 were a double success for Lupus alpha, which was named the best asset manager in the Boutiques and Absolute Return categories.

The award for Best Asset Manager Boutiques went to Lupus alpha for the second year running. The Scope Awards are among the most established and distinguished awards presented to funds and asset managers in German-speaking countries and were presented for the 14th time this year. While other market awards focus exclusively on quantitative criteria, the Scope Awards also take qualitative criteria into consideration when ranking the top five companies in each category.

Among other factors, the awards evaluate the experience and qualifications of fund managers and research analysts as well as the design and implementation of the investment process. Lupus alpha impressed the judges in both of its categories, placing at the pinnacle of each top-five group.

In the area of absolute return, the Lupus alpha team focuses on alternative solutions for volatility strategies. As one of the pioneers in the German market, the Frankfurt-based asset management company opened up this asset class to institutional investors back in 2007. The company now manages more than EUR 2.3 billion in this segment. As an liquid alternative strategy, volatility requires a significant amount of special expertise, making it a good fit for the profile of this provider of specialised asset classes such as small and mid caps and specialised alternative bond strategies.

These awards for the best boutique and absolute return provider reinforce Lupus alpha’s philosophy of focusing on strategies where active management places the Company at an advantage and enables it to offer its customers genuine added value.
